Everyone dreams of going to an exotic location with their best friends, and when I graduated a handful of years ago I got the chance, and it made for the best summer ever. Me and 5 of my best buddies flew to the island of Antigua and lived like kings. Think “The Hangover,” without the stolen cop car ( ; We partied, explored the island, met beautiful women—a constant party on the beach. This is also where I first tried Malibu Rum. They had a drink, a rum punch, that they called they called “The Antigua Beach Side Pounder:” Malibu Rum, Pineapple juice, and Peach Schnapps. They called it the Pounder, because you could drink 10 and not even realize it….until you tried to see if a golf cart, filled with 5 guys, could float in the ocean. Incredible food, booze, and Caribbean music—THE BEST SUMMER EVER!!!!
The family is all together again for the first time in 3 years, and only the 2nd time in the last 7 years.
Sometimes I wish I was still in school, because it was so much easier to make friends. Nowadays, it seems the only people I become friends with are friends of friends, and co workers. Sure, I may talk to someone over drinks, but that will be the end of it. How do you make friends in your late 20’s? Especially in Miami? Im talking about the type of friend you can call when you have nothing going on, just to hang….seems impossible in this city.
Just sketchy enough to be an adventure, but gentrified enough to be fun. Great place to go out, but not to live. What a night!
Its very uncommon for me to have difficulty sleeping, so when this rarity occurs I try my best to take advantage….its 3am, and the thought that is running through my head is this: The greatest gifts are the ones you werent expecting. Its when you arent looking for something that you find what you were looking for.
